This is definitely the year of the Wizkid!
The Nigerian singer has just gotten his first
nomination for an International hip-hip award. And
it is all thanks to his collaboration with Drake on the
hit song, ‘One Dance’.
Recall that ‘One Dance’ took Wizkid to international
charts, and also made him the first Nigerian whose
song was named the longest running UK no. 1 single
in digital era.
According to Complex, other artistes who shine this
year for hip-hop’s big night include Drake who raked
in 14 nominations, Future who got 10, and Kanye
West following closely with 8 nominations.
The award show will be taped in September and will
premiere on BET on October 4, 2016.
