The man’s wife allegedly sent someone to pour acid on her after learning of her husband’s proposal.

A 25-year-old lady named Ogochukwu Nwosu, is in a critical condition at the Lagos UniversityTeaching Hospital after she was attacked and bathed with acid.Punch reported that the incident happened on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, when a man got off a motorcycle and poured acid on her then fled the scene. Ogochukwu was rushed to the hospital shortly after sustaining burns mainly on her face and chest.
Ogochukwu spoke to Punch saying she believes it is the fault of Mrs. Chidi, the wife of a man who proposed to her. She said:“I suspect Mrs. Chidi because she had been threatening me before the incident.”“And while I was on admission at the hospital, she called and spoke with my brother, saying that was just the beginning.”Ogochukwu also said she refused the man’s proposal but he stillpersisted.
